Easy Simple Chili We serve this with shredded cheese and sour cream. The kids like to have this over fritos. Nice easy chili, this is almost the same chili that I grew up on (with the exemption of the jalapenos). You can have Easy Simple Chili using 9 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of Easy Simple Chili

  1. You need 1 lb. of Ground beef (or ground pork, turkey, bison).
  2. You need 1 of small onion.
  3. Prepare 14 oz. of can diced tomatoes.
  4. Prepare 2 cans of tomato soup.
  5. It's 8 oz. of can tomato sauce (Redpack).
  6. Prepare 1 can of kidney or chili beans.
  7. You need 1 package of chili seasoning.
  8. Prepare 14 oz. of can beef broth (or bullion cube, Knorr is best).
  9. Prepare 1 tsp. of Frank's Redhot (optional).

This comes from a Betty Crocker cookbook of One Dish Meals and it is so yummy! Its easy to make too, most of the time is for simmering. This is really mild, but could be a great starting point for a spicier chili. W. (variation) This is my basic chili recipe though I have modified it with ideas found in other chili recipes.

Easy Simple Chili step by step

  1. Brown meat with onions (if using green pepper, celery or carrots, brown with the meat).
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to a large pot, then add the meat mixture..
  3. Simmer on low until it boils, maybe 30 minutes, uncovered. Stir occasionally. No need to cover. You can add everything to a crock pot and let simmer as long as you want..
  4. Add sour cream and/or cheese and serve! I use a packet of chili seasoning because it's 39 cents! If you shop at Aldi, this is a cheap meal you can feed your family for about $6! The Redhot doesn't make us spicy but adds a nice "tang". You can even use shredded beef. Replace the beef broth with 8 oz. lager (or amber beer)..

And I cook it all day in the crock pot. In a large pot over medium heat, heat oil. And you can't talk about soup without talking about chili!!! Once again, I was a little doubtful whether a rich and delicious chili could actually be made with so few ingredients. This bean-rich, ground beef chili will not only be delicious today, but it might even taste better tomorrow.
