Salisbury steak step by step

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix together meat, crumbs, egg, soup mix, garlic, worchestshire, salt, and pepper..
  3. Form into 8- 10 flat patties..
  4. Heat butter in oven proof skillet. Brown patties in batches. (They'll finish in oven).
  5. Drain off most of the fat in the skillet. Put all patties in. Pour gravy over patties. (If they don't fit transfer to casserole dish).
  6. Bake 20 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes..
  7. Just saying...I used gravy from packets for this because I wanted strong thick gravy, usually I would make it from scratch, but anyway, that's why there's no recipe for the gravy....

It's ready in under an hour and cooks all in one skillet. Just like mom used to make. Serve with buttered noodles or mashed potatoes. This Salisbury Steak is our new "go-to" recipe for busy nights when we only have a few ingredients left in the pantry and fridge. I always keep these ingredients handy because my family loves this dish!
