Ingredients of taisen's cheese stuffed shells

  1. It's 1 of to 2 boxes of large shells.
  2. You need 1 of parmesan cheese.
  3. You need 1 of mozzarella cheese.
  4. It's 1 of garlic powder.
  5. You need 1 of cottage cheese. how much you use is up to you. go by how many shells your making.
  6. Prepare 1 of fresh or dried basil. you can also use Italian seasoning.
  7. You need 1 of pepper to taste.
  8. You need 1 of salt if needed or wanted.
  9. Prepare 1 of tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce. if using spaghetti sauce use any kind you like.
  10. It's 1 of oil or butter if desired.

  1. cook the shells in water. add a small amount of oil or butter and a pinch of salt.
  2. while those are cooking mix cottage cheese and parmesan cheese together in a bowl. you can add egg to this but I don't all the time..
  3. put the cheese in fridge covered if the shells are not done..
  4. when the shells are almost fully cooked ( dont over cook them as you want them firm ) drain and put them into cool water. pre heat oven to about 350.
  5. get a casserole dish out. pour a small amount of sauce on the bottom. sprinkle a bit of parmesan cheese. you can also add a bit of basil garlic or italian seasoning over the sauce..
  6. get the cheeses out. take one shell out of the cool water..
  7. hold the shell open if you can or use a spoon or fingers to open it. put cottage cheese mix into the shell then sprinkle it with a touch of parmesan and then top it off with mozzarella cheese making sure they are inside of the shell. place the shell in the dish. repeat until the casserole dish is full. they may be placed touching each other.
  8. after the casserole dish is full you can sprinkle extra seasoning ie: basil , italian seasoning or even extra cheese.
  9. spoon sauce over top of these . cover and bake at about 350 for 20 to 30 minutes. if you added egg you might want to cook longer..
  10. remove the dish from the oven. uncover. add mozzarella cheese on top. bake uncovered until the cheese is melted..
  11. serve and enjoy!.
